Evolution of pillows.
By Dr. Kim Kogan
My cat does not need a pillow. He curls his head underneath himself and
feels perfectly comfortable this way.
Many thousands years ago we humans started using objects to put under
our head while we sleep. Surprisingly enough there were stones and wood among
those objects. Luckily we progressed enough to think up something more
comfortable which we use nowadays. There is a full variety of numerous shapes
and forms when it comes to modern pillow. Some shapes are so “exotic” that it
is hard to figure out how to use such a pillow! The fillers vary from synthetic
to organic. You’ve got goose down, feathers, latex, gel, foam rubber of many
kinds, even buckwheat hull. But do the really do the job? However rich is the
choice for the pillow buyer the main thing was still missing in spite of
numerous claims to the contrary until now: the pillow that provides natural
spine alignment during sleep in prone position as well as on the side. And what
is most important the built-in intelligence that allows the pillow to recognize
those positions and to re-adjust automatically. Today such a pillow exists. It
is called Sleep&Heal.
Due to a specially designed shape and elastic flexible material it
combines all the useful features of the successful designs of the past and a
new revolutionary idea of a built-in intelligence, which allows the pillow to
re-adjust automatically according to the sleeper’s position during sleep.
